体育の日は昔は10月10日でしたが、2000年（平成12年）からこの日が体育の日ではなくなりました。2000年から「ハッピーマンデー制度」が導入され、10月の第2月曜日になりました。
2020年（令和2年）は東京オリンピック・パラリンピックの開催に伴い、7/24が体育の日になりました。これは、オリンピックの開会式が7/24であったためです。
したがって、2023年（令和5年）現在、体育の日は10月の第2月曜日です。
今年は１０月9日がスポーツの日とされています。
運動は毎日軽い体操でもいいので心掛け。頭も使い脳トレーニングもすると防止予防にもなります。
